Author Teri Bennett will visit Lexus of Maplewood  to sign copies of her latest book in the Angel Dog Austin series, "Did you know dog is God spelled backwards?"

Is it a coincidence? Probably not. After all, God made dogs very much like His Love: loyal, patient, trusting and forgiving. Follow Angel Dog Austin and a few of her friends as she gives us a tour of Doggy Heaven and its bountiful gifts. Of course, Austin knows nothing can compare to the greatest gift God has given us: His son, Jesus.

 

A couple of sneak peeks in the book finds…. the author has used dogs to illustrate a marvelous howling doggy choir, a heartfelt page with dogs cuddled up right next to each other reads "when you are sad or lonely, we curl up right next to you until you feel better and to remind you that you are not alone" and the Patient page picturing a hotdog stand and all the dogs on their clouds waiting patiently for their turn. Teri says "the comments I hear most are, they love the message and the illustrations are so wonderful because of the real dog images that are black and white photos mixed in with make believe watercolor backgrounds."

 

Her first book, Angel Dog Austin, was inspired by a holiday letter written years ago, in which Teri shares the news of her beloved dog Austin’s death. In this heartwarming story we learn what happens to our pets when they leave this world. We discover how Austin deeply enriched the lives of her family, had puppies, grew old and eventually left her earthly bonds for Doggy Heaven.

 

These colorful children’s - style books will appeal to young and old. Filled with wonderful illustrations, they are a great comfort to someone who has lost a loved pet.

 

Teri Bennett is an accomplished cook, interior designer, photographer, painter and writer. In 2004 she was nationally recognized as an NBC Today Show Domestic Diva finalist. Teri has worked for the Mall of America as a Home Specialist, and Lakestyle Magazine as an Entertainment Editor.
